A two-day workshop on Best Practices in Foundational Numeracy was successfully organized at the Block Resource Centre Kotli Pabau, located in Kotli Pabau, district Pauri Garhwal. The workshop aimed to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical understanding of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) through project based learning, classroom innovations, and sharing of field tested practices.

During the workshop, Dr Atul Bamrara from Government Primary School Chaunrkhal presented his innovative best practice titled “Multiutility Foundational Numeracy Learning Teaching Material (LTM)”. The presentation highlighted the effective use of low-cost, multi-purpose teaching-learning materials designed to develop number sense, basic operations, logical thinking, and joyful participation among young learners.

Dr. Bamrara demonstrated how the multiutility LTM supports experiential learning, peer collaboration, and competency-based assessment while ensuring inclusive participation of all children. The session received active engagement from participating teachers, who appreciated the practicality, scalability, and alignment of the practice with NEP 2020 and FLN goals. The workshop concluded with reflective discussions, classroom implementation planning, and a collective commitment by teachers to adopt innovative, play-based strategies for strengthening foundational numeracy in their schools.
