A Cyber Hygiene Practices Awareness Session was organized for the NSS volunteers of Government PG College Pabau to promote safe and responsible use of digital technologies. The session aimed to sensitize students about the growing cyber threats and the importance of maintaining good cyber practices in everyday digital life.

The session was conducted by Dr. Atul Bamrara, who serves as a Cyber Ambassador under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Project of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. During the session, Dr. Bamrara highlighted the importance of cyber hygiene, which refers to a set of practices that individuals should follow to maintain the health and security of their devices, online accounts, and personal data.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Mukesh Shah, Assistant Professor of Economics and NSS Coordinator at Government PG College Pabau. He appreciated the initiative and emphasized that such awareness programs are essential for youth, as students play an important role in spreading cyber safety awareness within society.

Dr. Bamrara explained common cyber threats such as phishing attacks, fake links, social media frauds, identity theft, and AI-based cyber crimes. He emphasized practical safety measures including creating strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, avoiding suspicious links, keeping devices updated, and being cautious while sharing personal information online. The volunteers were also made aware of cyber crime reporting mechanisms and digital safety guidelines issued by the Government of India.

The session was highly interactive, where NSS volunteers shared their experiences and asked questions related to online safety, digital payments, and social media usage. The discussion helped participants understand how simple cyber hygiene practices can protect individuals and communities from cyber frauds. The session concluded with a message encouraging NSS volunteers to act as digital safety ambassadors in their communities and promote responsible use of technology.
